Orlando Pacheco

Orlando Pacheco, age 79, of Santa Rosa passed away March 27, 2013 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis following an illness. He was born April 9, 1933 in Puerto De Luna, NM to the home of Pedro and Genoveva Nieto Pacheco. He was raised and attended schools in Puerto De Luna. He married Josie Abeyta on June 9, 1956 in Santa Rosa. Orlando worked his entire life in the Construction field. He served many roles in his years from driving trucks, operating heavy equipment and crew foreman. He last worked with Pacheco Trucking and Construction in Tucumcari until his retirement. Orlando was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Society. His greatest joy was visiting with his family and friends and enjoying his grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening, taming and breaking horses, rodeos and going to the horse races. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Josie on September 5, 2010; three infant children; three brothers Carlos, Frank, and Oracio Pacheco. Survivors include two daughters Sylvia Marquez Pacheco of Santa Rosa and Molly Pacheco Richardson and husband George of Clovis; two sons Paul Pacheco and Robert Chavez of Santa Rosa; a brother Ray Pacheco and wife Margie of Santa Rosa; a sister, Marcella and husband Raymond Baca of Alburquerque. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grand children, and one great-great grandchild. A rosary will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday April 1, 2013 from the Nuestra Senora de Refugio Catholic Church in Puerto De Luna. Funeral Mass will be held from the church at 10:00 AM on Tuesday April 2, 2013 with Father Thomas Kayammakal officiating. Burial of Cremains will follow at El Calvario Cemetery in Puerto De Luna. Serving as Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be his close friends Fred Trujillo and Joe L.
