A Rosary, followed by a Funeral Mass for Nick Cordova will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, March 23, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anton Chico, NM. Burial of cremains will follow at San Jose Cemetery. Nicasio “Nick“ Cordova Jr., 48 of Clovis and formerly of Amarillo, TX died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Texas Specialty Hospital in Lubbock, TX following an extended illness. Nicasio was born November 25, 1964 in Anton Chico, NM to the home of Nicasio Sr. and Teresa (Jaramillo) Cordova. He was reared and attended school in Anton Chico and, Santa Rosa, NM where he graduated in 1982. Nicacio made his home in Amarillo, TX in 1984, he married Irene Banegas on July 15, 1985. Nicasio worked as a loader operator in Amarillo for Affiliated Foods, I.B.P., Tyson, and Hi-Pro feeds. Nicasio was a parishioner at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Amarillo. Nicasio and Irene made their home in Clovis in 2010. He enjoyed the time he spent with his wife and children. He was a family man and spent his after hours and weekends attending their sporting events and activities. He enjoyed attending family events, loved the outdoors, farm life, ranching, horses, gathering firewood with his family and cutting and selling Christmas Trees. Nicasio is preceded in death by his father Nicasio Cordova Sr., a sister Anabelle Cordova, his paternal grandparents Fidel and Aurelia Cordova and his maternal grandparents Ramon and Felicita Jaramillo. Survivors include his wife Irene Cordova of Clovis, NM, two daughters Veronica Lopez and husband Matt of Oklahoma City, OK, Venessa Gamboa of Amarillo, TX, a son Nick Cordova of Amarillo, TX, his mother Teresa Cordova of Clovis, NM, four brothers Anthony Cordova, Ramon Cordova, John and wife Arena Cordova all of Anton Chico, NM and Hector Cordova of Santa Fe, NM, three sisters Christine and husband Gene Sena of Clovis, NM, Teresa Martinez and husband Jose of Inglewood, CA, and Esther (Greg Romero) Mata of Santa Rosa, NM. Also surviving are seven grandchildren Aaron, Julia, Hannah, and Lucas Lopez of Oklahoma City, OK and Steven. Isaiah, Joshua Gamboa of Amarillo, TX along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, co-workers and friends. A funeral Mass will be held in Anton Chico, NM. Time and Date are pending.
