Dorothy L. Zamora, age 86, passed away on March 6, 2013 at the Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque following an illness. Dorothy was born in El Valle, NM to the home of Miguel and Francisca (Benavidez) Lopez. She was reared in Newkirk, NM. She married Napoleon Zamora on February 11, 1946 in Santa Rosa. She and Napoleon made their home in Santa Rosa where she worked at Teeters Department Store, La Fiesta Café and assisted her husband at the City Food Market where they owned and operated the store for many years. She and Napoleon moved to Albuquerque in 1974 where they made their home ever since. Dorothy loved to read, embroider and she took care of many children for many years. She was a parishioner at Church of the Risen Savior in Albuquerque. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Napoleon, brothers and sisters, Mary Gonzalez, Aurora Elevario, Florencia Lopez, Adela Sena, Hilario Lopez, Benigno Lopez, Heculano Lopez, Santos Lopez, Frank Lopez and Miguel Lopez. Survivors include her children, Corinne Barnhill and husband George of Brandon, Mississippi and Rolando Zamora of Albuquerque. Her grandchildren, Steven Madrid and wife Stachia and Andrea Madrid, great grandchildren, Alyssa Madrid and Jaden Madrid. Also surviving are her sister, Dolores Chacon of Santa Rosa and her brother Jose D. Lopez of Las Vegas, NM along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Tuesday, March 12, at 10:00 AM from St. Rose of Lima Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately after the rosary with Father Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Albert Elevario, Robert Lopez, Matthew Lopez, Patrick Gonzalez, Adolph Sena and Andrew Zamora.
