Jessie Martinez

Jessie M. Martinez, 94 of Rio Rancho, NM and formerly of Fort Sumner died Monday, March 4, 2013 in Rio Rancho. She was born June 8, 1918 in Alamo, NM to the home of Alfredo and Camila (Lopez) Lucero. She was a home maker. She married Alfred A. Martinez on February 29, 1964 in Albuquerque. She made her home in Albuquerque from 1950-1995, in Fort Sumner from 1995-2005 and in Rio Rancho since 2005. She was a lifelong Catholic and a member of Holy Ghost Parish in Albuquerque, and St. Anthony Parish in Fort Sumner, and The Church of the Incarnation in Rio Rancho. Jessie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alfred in 1995, three brothers Frank Lucero in 1986, Alfredo Lucero in 2005, Jim Lucero in 2005, two sisters Santana Coronado in 2006 and Irene Madrid in 2008. Survivors include a brother Jake Lucero and a sister Rebecca Lopez both of Fort Sumner along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rosary and viewing will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 2-4 pm with recitation of the rosary at Daniels Funeral Home in Rio Rancho, NM. Rosary services will be held at 10:15 am Friday, March 8, 2013 followed by the funeral Mass, at The Church of the Incarnation, 2309 Monterrey Road in Rio Rancho, NM. Father Rick Zerwas will officiate, burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Albuquerque.
