Blanche L. Hill

Blanche Loraine Hill, 86 a longtime resident of the Fort Sumner valley died Saturday evening, December 1, 2012 at The Rehabilitation Center of Albuquerque following an illness. She was born June 26, 1926 in Dickens County, TX to the home of James “Jake” Youngblood and the former Mary Gladys Fitzgerald. She was raised in Levelland, Texas where she attended and graduated from High School. Blanche married Harold E. Hill on June 17, 1942 in Levelland. They made their home in Fort Sumner in 1970 where Blanche was an active member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a past secretary at the church. Blanche joyfully served everyone she loved – her Lord, her family, her friends, and her community wherever she lived, Levelland, TX, Albuquerque, NM, Fort Sumner, NM. She made her home a loving haven of warm hospitality. Blanche is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold E. Hill, and a brother James J. Youngblood. Her quiet, gentle spirit will be missed by those who survive; her children, three sons Gary Hill and his wife Linda of Edgewood, NM; Ronald Hill and his wife Sharon of Trinidad, Texas, John H. Hill of Boise, Idaho; a daughter, Mrs. Sharon Weatherford and her husband Danny of Fort Sumner, NM; two sisters Mrs. Jean Bielss of Lubbock, TX and Mrs. Virginia Cason of Albuquerque, NM; 22 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at First United Methodist Church in Fort Sumner, NM with Pastor Mike Stahl officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will include her grandsons, James Hill, Daniel Hill, Christopher Hill, Tommy Weatherford, Ryan Hall, and Brent Sena. The family prefers memorial contributions, in memory of Blanche Hill, to the Fort Sumner Cemetery, P.O.
