Conny Elizabeth Neely

Conny Neely, 42 a resident of Fort Sumner for the past six years died Monday, November 19, 2012 at Clovis Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center following an illness. She was born March 12, 1970 in Alsfeld, Germany the daughter of Gerhart and Arna (Mieer) Herrmann. She was reared in Hattendorf, Germany where she attended school. Conny lived a very interesting life, she worked as a Registered Nurse in Germany, as a model in California, a V.I.P. Security Officer on movie sets, and she also worked as a truck driver for Swift and J.B. Hunt. She worked as a surgical technician in Phoenix, AZ and more recently as a Certified Nurse Assistant at Retirement Ranch and Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, NM. Conny and her son Ross moved to Fort Sumner in 2006. She was very interested in the history of the West and Billy The Kid. She loved horseback riding, enjoyed reading and cooking “Hearty Food” for her son and friends. She is preceded in death by a brother Armen Herrmann in 1978. Survivors include her son Ross Neely of Fort Sumner, NM; her parents Gerhart and Arna Herrmann of Germany along with other relatives and many friends. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 24, 2012 at The Church on The Hill with Sister Anna Teeter officiating. Memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Conny, to the Ross Neely Fund, c/o Citizens Bank of Fort Sumner, P.O. Box 490, Fort Sumner, NM 88119.
