Adela Cordova of Puerto De Luna, NM passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the Espanola Rest Home. She was born May 22, 1915 in San Ignacio, NM the daughter of Francisco Chavez and Aurelia Rivera Chavez. She married Manuel Cordova in Santa Rosa on June 22, 1936 and made their home in California and Puerto de Luna. Adela enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casinos, baking, sewing and reading the Bible. She was a member of Nuestra Senora de Refugio Parish in Puerto De Luna, the Sacred Heart Society and was very faithful to Our Lady of Perpetual Help and praying the Rosary. Adela is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Manuel Cordova. Survivors include her sister Maria Chavez of California, a nephew Robert Marquez and wife Frances of Rio Chama, NM and many more nieces, nephew’s relatives and friends. Rosary services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 20, at 7:00 PM from St. Rose of Lima Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 21, also from St. Rose Church with Father Thomas Kayammakal Officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa.
