Candy C. Harden, 46 of Fort Sumner, NM died Friday, November 16, 2012 at her home following a sudden illness. She was born October 14, 1966 in Chester, CA to the home of A.J. and Virginia (Roberts) Harden. She was raised in Fort Sumner and attended Fort Sumner High School. She completed Cosmetology School in St. Roberts, Missouri where she was employed for several years with Smart Style Hair Salon. She returned to Fort Sumner in 2005 and worked as a health care provider and for three years at the Hamburger Stand. Candy was a member of The Church on The Hill in Fort Sumner and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. She loved to make jewelry and collect rocks, her children say she was always “Rock Poaching”. Candy supported her children and was involved with the Fort Sumner High School Business Professional of America projects and supported Fort Sumner School Athletics. Candy is preceded in death by a brother Shane Harden, her maternal grandparents Roy Roberts and Mary Roberts and paternal grandfather Carroll Harden, paternal grandmother Ola Welch and step-grandfather Homer Welch. Candy is survived by a son Arron Harden of Fort Sumner, a daughter Candy Jo Webb of Fort Sumner, parents A.J. and Virginia Harden of Lake Sumner and a brother Tommy Harden and his wife Staci of Moriarty, NM. Also surviving is a niece, Breese Harden of Moriarty along with many friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at The Church on The Hill with Sister Anna Teeter officiating. Burial will follow in the Harden Family Plot, Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Monte Terrell, Carlos Sena, David Crockett, Kelly Finney, Arron Harden, and Anthony Griffin. Honorary bearers will be Tony Lucero, Trisha Marshall, Reid Chambers and all her many friends. The family prefers memorial contributions to Fort Sumner High School Benevolent Fund, P.O.
