Benjamin Segura

Benjamin B. Segura, 65, of San Ignacio, passed away Sunday, October 14th due to congestive heart failure. He was preceded in death by his parents Francisco Alfonso Segura and Mary Bertha Segura of San Ignacio, New Mexico. Benjamin was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico on September 12, 1947. Benny graduated from Santa Rosa High School and received a football scholarship to The University of Colorado. He married Diane Denise Southward of Fairfield, California and had two daughters together. He was known by his nickname(s) “Benny” or “Benji”. Benny wore many hats in his career but ranching was his passion. He also was a skilled mechanic and did auto body repairs. He loved the outdoors and was a country boy at heart. He is survived by his two daughters Mrs. Medina Earl of Stockton, California and Ms. Demecia Segura of Hollywood, California. Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral Mass on Friday, October 19, 2012 at The Saint Rose of Lima Parish , at 10:00 AM Burial of cremains will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery . In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations may be made to the America Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
