Gary Paul Propps, age 68, of Fort Sumner, NM passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 13, 2012 at his home. He was born April 23, 1944 in Fort Sumner to the home of Lester and the former Frances Wilson Propps. He attended school and was raised in Fort Sumner, graduating from Fort Sumner High School. He married his wife Patsy Rimer in Brownfield, Texas on December 21, 1963. Gary worked as a Butcher for most of his life, working at Dave's Grocery in Fort Sumner for 53 years. He was a member of the Lions Club, the Fort Sumner Volunteer Fire Department, and the Bowling League. He enjoyed the outdoors; golf, camping, hunting and fishing. He loved his garden, raising roses and playing bingo. He was preceded in death by his parents Lester and Frances Propps; two sisters, Nola Gammill and Patsy Gomez; and two infant brothers, Royce and Donald Ray Propps. Gary is survived by his wife Pat Propps of the family home of Fort Sumner; 2 daughters Debbie and husband Louis Ulibarri of Clovis, NM, Diane and husband Jarrett Friend of Point Marion, PA; a sister Leona Wood; 2 brothers Dale and V. E. Propps all of Fort Sumner, NM; Also surviving are four grandchildren, Jennifer Ulibarri, Samantha Ulibarri, Camille Ulibarri and Jeremy Propps; and one great grandson Kyson Ulibarri. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 17, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Fort Sumner with Sister Anna Teeter officiating. Burial will follow at the Fort Sumner Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Don Wahe, Frankie Martz, George Gonzales, Brent Moyer, Jesse Casaus, David Vansickel, David Bailey, and Carlos Chavez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Sparks, J. W.
