Steve Campos

Steve Phillip Campos, age 61, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at the V.A. Hospital in Albuquerque. Steve was born on December 25, 1950 in Santa Rosa to the home of Guillermo and Filomena (Dodge) Campos. He was reared in Puerto de Luna and attended Santa Rosa Consolidated Schools and graduated from Santa Rosa High School. Steve served in the United States Army from 1970 until 1971 where he received the National Defense Service Medal. He worked for the New Mexico State Highway Department as an inspector and retired after 31 years of service. He enjoyed the horse races, Riding out to PDL and his grandkids. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Larry Campos. Survivors include his son’s Phillip Campos and Miguel Campos both of Santa Rosa, his grandchildren, Davina Campos and Lathan Campos as well as his brother David Campos of Albuquerque. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Monday, September 17, at 10:00 AM from Nuestra Senora de Refugio Church in Puerto De Luna. Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately after the Rosary with Father Thomas Kayammakal officiating. Burial will follow at Nuestra Senora de Refugio Cemetery also in Puerto De Luna.
