Anna Marie Urban Madrid

Anna Marie (Urban) Madrid, 48 a lifelong Santa Rosa, NM resident died Friday, June 22, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque following a sudden illness. Anna was born December 4, 1963 in Santa Rosa, NM the daughter of Jose Roberto Urban Sr. and the former Antonia Carmen Gonzales. Anna was raised and attended schools in Santa Rosa, graduating from Santa Rosa High School in 1982. She attended Luna Vocational Technical Institute in Las Vegas where she received her Dental Hygienist certification. She worked for the dental office of Dr. Foster in Santa Rosa. Anna later worked for Dairy Queen in Santa Rosa. For the past seven years she has worked as Cook Supervisor at GEO Correction Center. Anna married Jose Narciso Madrid Jr. on September 13, 2011 in Santa Rosa. Anna helped care for her father for several years until his death in 2010. According to her family, Anna enjoyed crocheting, and loved to spend time with her family especially her four loving grandchildren. She also loved her pet dog, Sadie. Anna is preceded in death by her parents; two infant sisters Laura Belle Urban and Guadalupe Urban and her father-in-law Narciso Mardid Sr. She is survived by her husband Jose Narciso Madrid Jr., her son Benjamin (Maria Chavez) Gerhardt , her daughter Frances (Juan Diaz) Gerhardt all of Santa Rosa. Four brothers Joe Robert Urban and wife Darlene of Las Vegas, NM; Richard Urban and wife Patsy of Commerce, Oklahoma; Jose Rolando (Theresa Gonzales) Urban of Las Vegas, NM; Miguel Ruben Urban and wife Patricia of Rio Rancho, NM; two sisters Mary Lou Tapia and husband Ernest, and Elvira Salazar all of Santa Rosa; also surviving are four grandchildren, Daniel Zamora, Alexa Diaz, Letty Gerhardt, and Laycie Gerhardt all of Santa Rosa, her mother-in-law Elena Madrid of Puerto De Luna; sisters in law Lorraine Madrid of Puerto De Luna, Toni Baca and husband Pete of Bernalillo; Patsy Madrid and Gloria Madrid of Santa Rosa and a brother-in-law Andy Madrid and wife Sylvia of Santa Rosa. Visitation hours will be Monday from 1PM to 6PM at the funeral home. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 PM Monday, June 25, 2012 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, NM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Kayammakal officiating; burial will follow at Nuestra Senora de Refugio Cemetery in Puerto De Luna, NM. Pallbearers will include Marty Madrid, David Urban, J.R. Urban, Mark Salazar, Joseph Higgins, Jeff Chavez, Cristobal Lucero, and Andy Urban. Honorary bearers will be her GEO co-workers and all her friends and family.
