Rosary services for Ronald Raposa, 58 of Clovis, NM will be held at 6:00 PM Friday, June 1, 2012 from Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis. The funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 2, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vaughn, NM with Father Simeon Wimmershoff officiating. Burial with military honors provided by Cannon Air Force Base Honor Guard will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Vaughn, New Mexico. Pallbearers will include George Baca, Christopher Raposa, Jeremiah Baca, Noah Baca, David Sena, and Johnnie Gibson. Ronald died Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at his home in Clovis following an illness. He was born December 27, 1953 in Wilmington, Delaware to the home of Joseph J. and Mary Madeline (Schoy) Raposa. He was reared and attended schools in Wilmington. Ronald joined the U.S. Air Force at age 17. He was stationed at Cannon Air Force Base as a Security Specialist; he was honorably discharged on July 26, 1978 and made Clovis his home in 1980. Ronald married Helen Rael on March 26, 1998 in Clovis. Ronald was employed as a custodian by Clovis Municipal Schools for 12 years. He also worked as a custodian at Laurel Ridge Nursing Home. Ronald was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed playing baseball, bowling and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. Ronald is preceded in death by his wife Helen (Rael) Raposa on April 26, 2005 and his parents. Survivors include a daughter Lynn Raposa of Clovis; two sons Christopher Raposa and wife Angela of Eagle River, Alaska and George Baca and wife Victoria of Clovis. Two brothers John Raposa and Robert Raposa both of Wilmington, Delaware and four grandchildren Noah, Jeremiah, Angelina, and Daiza Baca. Also surviving is his mother-in-law Alice Rael of Clovis, two sisters-in-law Joanne and Margaret Rael of Clovis along with a host of family and friends.
