Raymond Salas

Raymond Marc Salas, age 46, passed away on April 13, 2012 at Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo following an illness. Raymond was born on January 3, 1966 in Tucumcari to the home of Raymond P. and Gloria (Apodaca) Salas. He was reared and attended schools in Tucumcari. Raymond love football and was hard nose Chicago Bear fan. He loved cooking out, reading, making people laugh but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. Raymond lived life to its fullest. He is preceded in death by his father, his Paternal Grandparents Emilio and Anne Salas, his Maternal Grandparents Antonio and Olympia Apodaca. Survivors include his mother, Gloria Salas of Tucumcari, his children, Daniel Ray Salas and Luz Ureste, Bryanna Garcia and husband Simon, Raymond Marc Salas, Jordan Michael Salas all of Tucumcari, Alissa Velasco of Littlefield, TX, Alexandria Salas of Amarillo, TX and Danae Salas of Oklahoma, brothers and sisters, Frances Calbert and Dennis Benavidez of Moriarty, DeDe Pacheco and Albert Ariaz of Clovis, Darla Munsell of Tucumcari, Lynda Salas of Amarillo, TX and Paul Gallegos of Albuquerque. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 7;00 PM from St. Anne's Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 20, at 10:00 AM also from St. Anne's Church with Father Hyginus Anuta officiating. Burial will follow at the Tucucmari Memorial Park. Serving as Pallbearers will be, Steve Andrada, Ryan Munsell, Travis Munsell, D.J. Benavidez, Pancho Salas, Martin Martinez, Steve Otero and Anthony Gallegos. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Raymond’s Grandchildren. All services for Mr. Salas have been entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
