Jevern Vetterly

Jevern Vetterly, 76 of Lake Sumner, NM died Sunday March 4, 2012 at Heartland Continuing Care Center in Portales, NM following an illness. She was born January 31, 1936 in Plainview, TX the daughter of Ray Raiford Daniel and the former Bettie B. Bledsoe. Jevern attended school at Olton, TX. She married Richard Vetterly on May 1, 1986 in Plainview, TX. They made their home at Lake Sumner in 1986. Javern was a homemaker. Jevern enjoyed hosting her friends at her home she planned many parties for her Lake Sumner neighbors and friends. She enjoyed cookouts, attending yard sales and the flea market. She is preceded in death by her parents Ray and Bettie Daniel, a son Ed Snell, a brother Rayford Daniel and a sister Bettie Flagler. Survivors include her husband Richard Vetterly of Lake Sumner; a son Sam Snell and wife Julie of Clovis; a daughter Susan Hartman of St. Petersburg, FL; six grandchildren Samson Snell, Stetson Snell, Edwin Snell all of Clovis; Brandy Hartman, Brooke Hartman, and Natalie Hartman all of St. Petersburg, FL. Other survivors include five great-grandchildren; a brother in law Norris Flagler of St. Louis, MO and a sister in law Sandy Daniel of Earth, TX. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Chavez Funeral Home Chapel with Buddy Hall officiating.
