Stella Campos, age 58, passed away on February 19, 2012 at Vista Care Hospice in Albuquerque following a long illness. Stella was born July 30, 1953 in Santa Rosa, NM to the home of Abelino and Maria Rita (Lopez) Abeyta. She was reared and attended schools in Santa Rosa. She worked for the Santa Rosa Consolidated Schools as a cook for many years. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and was a fan of Tweety Bird, but most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Stella is preceded in death by her parents Abelino and Maria Rita and her grandparents, Francisco and Miquelita Lopez. Survivors include her children, Michael Campos of Amarillo, TX, Meagan Campos of Santa Rosa, Monica Silva of Albuquerque, her friend and companion of 21 years Patrick Swaggart of Santa Rosa, her grandchildren; Alexis, Amanda, Matthew and Isabel and a special niece Leah Ulibarri. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters, Mary Silva and husband Vincent of Santa Rosa, Faby Romero and husband Nick of Bernalillo, NM, David Abeyta and wife Pablita of Santa Rosa, Joe Abeyta and wife Monica of Santa Rosa, her Aunt and Uncles, Lucinda Lopez, Hipolito Lopez, Ramon Lopez, and Ventura Lopez all of Santa Rosa as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Thursday, February 23, at 7:00 PM from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, NM. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 24, at 9:00 AM from St. Rose of Lima Church with Father Joseph Thomas, CMI officiating. Burial of cremains will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Stella’s nephews and nieces; Christian Silva, Vicente Silva, Edward Romero, Susan Abeyta, Laura Barela, Abel Abeyta, Nadine Baldonado and Eileen Ulibarri.
