Albert Pacheco

Albert Pacheco, age 57, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospice in Albuquerque following an illness. Albert was born July 5, 1954 in Las Vegas, NM to the home of Victor and Filomena (Chavez) Pacheco. He was reared and attended schools in Garita. Albert owned and operated Pacheco Construction and Trucking. He started his business with one truck and worked diligently in making it to what it is today, employing over 50 employees. Albert was a kind and gentle man with a big heart. He assisted the community of Tucumcari in any way he could and would simply give you the shirt right off his back if he needed to. He loved all of his family. He was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, The Elks and a past member of the Board of Director of the Wells Fargo Bank. He loved his farm and working around it. His passion was horses which he loved to raise and race them. Albert was preceded in death by his father, Victor, his son, Jason Pacheco and his daughter, Shirley Pacheco. Survivors include his mother Filomena Pacheco of Tucumcari, his son Joshua and wife Veronica of Tucumcari, daughter in law; Mellisa Pacheco, grandchildren; A.J. Pacheco, Shianne Pacheco, Dezmon Pacheco, Joshua Pacheco and Niemiah Pacheco and his companion, Dora Moriel. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters; Arturo Pacheco and wife Lorraine of Albuquerque, Sylvia Gonzalez and husband Gilbert of Rio Rancho, Niva Romero and husband Carlos of Tucumcari, Victor Pacheco and wife Deanna of Tucumcari and the mother of his children, Christina Pacheco of Tucumcari as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, employees and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Thursday, January 19, at 7:00 PM from St. Anne’s Church in Tucumcari. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 20, at 11:00 also from St. Anne’s Church with Father James Vance officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at Tucumcari Memorial Park. Serving as Pallbearers will be, Jake Jimenez, Andrew Pacheco, Art Pacheco, Matthew Pacheco, Jonathan Pacheco, Jeff Pacheco, Pete Borquez and Dominic Pacheco. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be, Gilbert Gonzalez, Greg Pacheco, Matthew Callahan, Rodney Borquez, Casey Romero and Joey Gonzalez.
