Maxine Mullikin

February 22, 1925 — December 24, 2011

Maxine Mullikin 86, died Saturday December 24th, 2011 in Albuquerque. Maxine resided in Santa Rosa for nearly 70 years before moving to Albuquerque in June 2005 to live with her son Robert. Her health deteriorated rapidly as the result of symptoms related to Dementia. Maxine was born in Isleta, Texas on February 22, 1925. Maxine moved to Santa Rosa in 1936 with her brother Sonny Beauford and her sister Ethyl Smith who was married to Ira Smith. In July 1942 Maxine married Mike Mullikin who was in the United States Army and stationed in Fort Sumner, NM. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband Mike (September 1955) and her oldest son Michael (September 1988) her sister Ethyl Smith (1999) Brother-in-law Ira Smith (2005), brothers Claude Beauford (1987) and Sonny Beauford (1999). She is survived by her son Robert (Bobby) Mullikin and daughter Kathy (Mullikin) Van Cleve both of Albuquerque, long time friends Joan Johnson of Santa Rosa and Betty Milligan of Albuquerque. Also surviving is her brother Dick Beauford (94) of Carlsbad, NM his children Richard Beauford, Sharon (Beauford) Thompson, both of Phoenix AZ and Jeff Beauford of Texas. Several grandchildren, Jenny (Mullikin) Cox of Joplin, MO, Rob Mullikin of Albuquerque, Sarah Mullikin of Albuquerque, Monty Foster of Farrell, Texas, Brandon Foster of Clovis, NM, Marni Mullikin of Orlando, Florida and Dakota Mullikin of Albuquerque. Maxine has nine great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2011 from 10AM until noon at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa, NM. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Evergreen Cemetery in Santa Rosa, NM. John McCormick will officiate.
