Flora R Arrellin

Flora R. Arrellin, age 81, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on December 9. Flora was born on March 1, 1930 in Amarillo, TX to the home of Carlos M. and Adela (Montoya) Romero. She married Jose “Chemo” Arrellin on August 10, 1959 in Santa Rosa. Flora worked as a waitress for several years but was well known as one of Santa Rosa’s finest seamstress. She loved to sew and garden but most of all she loved taking care of her grandkids and great grandkids. Flora and Chemo are faithful parishioners of St. Rose of Lima Church. She always volunteered her talent as a seamstress to fix the Altar Servers Cassocks and church vestments. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be deeply missed. She is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband Jose “Chemo” Arrellin of the family home, her children; Jo Ann Arrellin of the family home, Patty Romero and husband Gilbert of Santa Rosa, Robert Arrellin and wife Lisa of Springer, NM, Joe Arrellin, Jr. and wife Sandra of Albuquerque, Michael Arrellin and wife Teresa of Wagon Mound, her grandchildren; Carla Chavez and husband Dominic, Jennifer Muniz and husband Ricardo, Erica Romero, Gilbert Romero, II, Brandi Chavez and husband Santiago, Francesca Taylor and husband Kris, DeNicka Arrellin, Alsiha Arrellin, Kristin Arrellin, Michael Arrellin, Marikita, Stephon Chavez, Julian Chavez, great grandchildren; Izaiah, Madisyn, Paityn, Preston, Aria, K-Fran and Karanna. Also surviving are her sisters and brother; Susie Villescas of Albuquerque, Anne Guinn and husband Bud of Santa Rosa, Piedad Gutierrez of Santa Rosa, Carlos Romero, Jr. and wife Liz of Santa Rosa, Julia Reed and husband Wayne of Fort Sumner and a brother in law; Joe Arrellin and wife Maria of Albuquerque along with numerous nieces, nephews a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Monday, December 12, at 7:30 from St. Rose of Lima Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 13, at 10:00 AM from St. Rose of Lima Church with Father Joseph Thomas, CMI officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
