Evaristo Gallegos

Evaristo A. Gallegos, Jr. was born October 10, 1923 to the home of Evaristo A. and Magdalena Duran Gallegos in Las Vegas, New Mexico. He passed away peacefully at his home on November 28th with his family by his side. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Magdalena Baca Gallegos, his brother Arthur and wife Esther, his sister Christina Valdez, children Kathy Baca, Michael Gallegos and wife Colleen, Perla Serrano, Jo Ann Gallegos, Dennis Gallegos and wife Margie, Frank Gallegos and wife Catrina, Mark Gallegos and wife Debbie, Matthew Gallegos and wife Erryn, sixteen grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his father and mother-in-law Frank and Leandra Baca, sister Mary Sanchez, and son Randolph Gallegos. He had a great love for his family, his catholic faith, life, and baseball. Rosary services will be held on Wednesday,. November 30, at 7:00 PM from St. Rose of Lima Church in Santa Rosa. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 10:00 AM also from St. Rose of Lima Church with Father Joseph Thomas, CMI officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph Cemetery. Pallbearers are his sons Michael, Dennis, Frank, Mark, Matthew, and grandson Philip. Honorary pallbearers are Percy Mares, Mauricio Paiz, Lorenzo Delgado, Silver Chavez, Joe A. Martinez, Laute Lucero, Dan Flores, Sister Helen Halligan, Adam Gallegos, and his grandsons Francisco Baca, Jeremy Gallegos, Morgan Gallegos, Dominic Lerma, Christopher Gallegos, David Gallegos, Daniel Gallegos, Joseph Chavez, and Antonio Gallegos All services for Mr. Gallegos have been entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
