Anthony J. Peterpaul

Anthony Joseph "Tony" Peterpaul, age 72, of Fort Sumner, New Mexico passed away November 20, 2011 following an illness in Plainview, TX. He was born March 7, 1939 in Newark, NJ to the home of Vito Pietropollo and the former Florence Pepe. He grew up and attended schools in Newark til he was a teenager at which time he moved to Dexter, NM. Tony married Sherry Smith on March 11, 1969 in Roswell, NM. He was a heavy equipment operator with both county and state highway departments. They made their home in Fort Sumner 20 years ago. Due to an illness he was a resident of The Texan Nursing Home in Plainview, TX where he was cared for by many wonderful nurses and staff. Tony was a member of the First Nazarene Church of Roswell, NM. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He especially enjoyed time spent with family and friends, and playing with his grandkids. Tony is preceeded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Sherry Peterpaul of the family home in Fort Sumner, NM; a daughter Lori and husband Lewis Hisel; his grandchildren Garrett Hisel and Jordon Hisel all of Yeso, NM; a son Anthony Blake Peterpaul of Reno, NV; three daughters Florence, Yolanda, and Carol all of Amarillo, TX. ; a brother Philip Larez of Roswell,NM. Along with numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Fort Sumner, NM with Rev. Nathan Lawrence officiating.
