Louis Ybarra Montoya, 81 of Clovis, NM died Monday, October 24, 2011 at his home following an illness. He was born June 21, 1930 in Alamogordo, NM to the home of Domingo and Domitilia Ovalle Montoya . He was reared and attended schools at Three Rivers, NM. He married Lucia Madrid on March 21, 2003 in Santa Rosa, NM. Louis was self employed as a General Contractor for many years. He made his home in Clovis in 1962 and retired in 1992. Louis was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis. He lived life to the fullest, enjoyed dancing, playing his guitar, playing pool, spending time with his family and having morning coffee with his friends at McDonalds on Mabry Drive. Louis is preceded in death by a son Louis Montoya Jr. in 2000 and a brother Emilio Montoya. Survivors include his wife Lucia Montoya of the home in Clovis; a daughter Sandy G. Montoya of Amarillo, TX; a son Domingo “Sonny” Montoya of Clovis; four sisters Pacha Duran and husband Robert of Tularosa, NM; Senaida Rascon of Albuquerque; Lucy Montoya of Woodland, CA; and Frances Montoya of El Paso, TX. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will begin at 1PM, Thursday, October 27, 2011. A prayer service will follow the visitation at 5:00 PM from the Chavez Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Sumner, NM. Carla Lopez will lead the prayers.
