Lucy E. Roybal, 61, went home to be with the One who loved her most, her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Lucy was born October 2, 1949 in Fort Sumner, NM to the loving home of Roman T. and Faviola (Gauna) Sena. Lucy was first married to Larry E. Roybal who died June 25, 1980. Lucy was left a widow raising her 3 children: Tammy, Cindy and Larry, Jr. After meeting Lucy and falling in love, Rafael F. Roybal, Jr. asked Lucy to be his wife, they were married on December 18, 1985. Together they finished raising their children. Lucy worked as a nurse for many years in the medical office of Dr. Edward Fikany and Dr. Joyce Roberts. She also worked for a short period at the De Baca Family Practice Clinic. Her greatest accomplishment was raising her children and watching her grandchildren grow up. She enjoyed cooking, baking and planting flowers. Lucy is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Alexa Roybal and two brothers Edward and Jesse Sena. Lucy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be dearly missed by her husband, Rafael Roybal of Clovis, NM; two daughters, Tammy Lucero and husband Simon of Fort Sumner, Cindy Roybal and husband Dickie of Clovis, a son Larry Roybal and wife Geri of Cerro, NM her parents, Roman T. and Faviola Sena of Fort Sumner, her best friends and sisters Dolores Ortega of Fort Sumner, Ruby Gonzales and husband George of Fort Sumner, Angie Mares and husband Mariano of Roswell, Jean Chavez and husband Paul of Albuquerque, and Reba Casaus and husband Rudy of Santa Rosa; a brother James Allen Dunn and wife Esther of Fort Sumner. Lucy has eight precious grandchildren Darian, Kiki, Johanna, Olivia, Josiah, Joshua, Little Larry, Elijah and there is a baby girl on the way, Lucia Gloria. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 16, 2011 at The Church on the Hill, 25203 US Highway 84, Fort Sumner, NM with Sister Anna Teeter officiating, burial will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will include her son, Larry Roybal, Gino Sena, Christian Sena, Richard Gonzales, Jerome Segura and Martin Blea. Honorary pallbearers will include George Ortega, Jr., all her nieces and nephews and her sweet friends. Visitation hours are Thursday from 1pm to 7pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5pm to 7pm.
