Lucia A Gutierrez

Lucia A. Gutierrez, age 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 6, 2011 at her residence in Santa Rosa following an illness. Lucia was born on July 6, 1929 in Amarillo, TX to the home of Pedro and Ignacita (Montoya) Aragon. She was reared and attended schools in Santa Rosa. She married Marcelino Gutierrez on May 5, 1947 in Santa Rosa. Lucia worked as a housekeeper for several motels in Santa Rosa. She was a parishioner at St. Rose of Lima Church. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, reading the paper and she was 100% devoted to her family. Lucia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will truly be missed by her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter; Lucinda Gutierrez, her son; Peter Gutierrez, her mother and father in law; Florencio and Lucinda Gutierrez, her sister; Maggie Gutierrez and her brothers; Severo Aragon and Louie Pacheco and her nephew; Jerry Romero. Survivors include her husband of 63 years; Marcelino Gutierrez of the family home in Santa Rosa, her daughters; Cecelia Gore and husband Steve of Carrizozo, NM and Louella Gutierrez of Santa Rosa, grandchildren; Kevin and Gene Gore, three sisters; Josie Martinez, Clara Romero both of Santa Rosa and Mary Gutierrez of Las Vegas, NM, two brothers; Ernest Pacheco and wife Sophie, and Gilbert Pacheco both of Albuquerque along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 7:00 PM from St. Rose of Lima Church. A second Rosary will be held on Thursday, September 8, at 7:00 PM at the Chavez Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will held at 10:30 AM Friday, September 9, 2011 from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with Father Joseph Thomas, CMI officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be; Michael Romero, Tommy Martinez, Jr., Ernie Chavez, Fermin Gutierrez, Jr. Keven Gore, Gene Gore, Phillip Romero, Richard Gutierrez and Cele Garcia.
