Ernest Marquez, 40 a lifelong resident of Santa Rosa died Monday, August 15, 2011 at his home. He was born October 18, 1970 in Santa Rosa the son of George E. and Alice Helen (Baca) Marquez. Ernest attended Santa Rosa High School. He worked as a cook in various Santa Rosa Restaurants including several years at Joseph’s Restaurant. He enjoyed fishing, reading, watching T.V. especially the war documentaries on the History Channel. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Ernest was preceded in death by his mother Alice Marquez on December 2, 2010; a brother Jason P. Marquez on April 25, 2008; his Paternal Grandfather, Heraldo Baca and Maternal Grandparents Antonio and Magdalena Chavez. Survivors include his father George Marquez of Santa Rosa; a sister Christine Marquez; three brothers John David and wife Hollee Marquez; Joseph Marquez and Fiancée Angela Lucero; and Patrick Marquez all of Santa Rosa. Also surviving is his Maternal Grandmother Socorro Baca of Maxwell, NM; three nephews Jason Marquez Jr., Christopher Marquez, and Scott Tena along with several aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 PM Sunday, August 21, 2011 from the Chavez Funeral Home Chapel in Santa Rosa. Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, August 22, 2011 from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa with Father Simeon Wimmershoff officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
