Josie M Salazar

Josie M. Salazar, age 74, passed away on August 6, 2011 at the Alta Vista Hospital in Las Vegas following an illness. Josie was born on December 6, 1936 in Santa Rosa, NM She worked as a housekeeper at various motels in Santa Rosa for many years. She loved to read, dance, attend yard sales, she adored her family and was an all around happy person. Josie is preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters. Survivors include her son; Michael Sena of Arizona, Louie Sena of Wyoming, her daughters; Maria Cindy Sena of Mora, Mary Francis Salazar, Darlene Gutierrez and husband Albert all of Santa Rosa, her mother; Julia Salazar of Santa Rosa, grandchildren; Trevor Lea, Alonna Lea, Angel Lucero, Alberta Gutierrez, Melissa Gutierrez, her great grandchildren; Xavier Lucero and Kristen Lea. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters; Ramon Baca, Jr., of Albuquerque, Maria Troxell of Kentucky, Billy Salazar of California, Benny Salazar and Lorenzo Salazar both of Tucumcari, Lucille Lucero and husband Fritz of Albuquerque, Lucy Salazar of Santa Rosa and Joe Baca of California along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held Thursday August 11, at 10:30 AM from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Memorial mass will follow at 11:00 AM also from St. Rose Church with Father Joseph Thomas, CMI officiating. Burial of cremains will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
