Lenis Louise Bell, 76 of Fort Sumner, NM passed from this world on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at Tenderheart Assisted Living Center in Albuquerque following a prolonged illness. Lenis was born July 14, 1934 in Phoenix, AZ to the home of James and Pearl (Mitchell) Morrow. She married Albert Bell on July 15, 1952 in Mullins, Nebraska. They made their home in Fort Sumner in 1952. Lenis also lived in Socorro from 2006-2008 before moving to Clovis in 2008. Lenis attended First Baptist Church in Fort Sumner, NM and St. Paul’s in Socorro, NM. Her greatest enjoyment was her family; she also enjoyed gardening, crafting, sewing, and quilting. She was loved by all who knew her. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Al Bell on March 10, 1987; and her parents. Survivors include a son Alan Bell and wife Nancy of Albuquerque; three daughters Lynn McKinley and husband Andy of Belen, NM; Mary Felty and husband Joe of Fort Sumner; Sharon Cross and husband Jimmy of Shreveport, LA; two sisters Iva Morrow of Arizona; Goldie Bryer and husband Bill of Texas; and a brother David Morrow and wife Jeanne of California. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, June 10, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Fort Sumner, NM with Rev. Nathan Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Jason Felty, Mark Bell, Tim Gutierrez, David Fumagalli, Andrew Sosa, Eric Morenus, and Bobby Reyes.
