Lucy G. Blea, age 67, of Fort Sumner, New Mexico died Saturday May 21, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, NM. Lucy was born May 13, 1944 in Fort Sumner, to the home of Leandro C. Gonzales and Alberta S. Gonzales. She was reared and attended Fort Sumner Schools. Lucy married Jose Sequio Blea on October 26, 1963 in Santa Rosa, NM. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, ceramics, playing bingo, listening and dancing to music, and most of all shopping with her daughters. She worked at the insulation Plant in Fort Sumner for several years. From there she worked at the Pecos Valley Care Center as a CNA and Housekeeper for 26 years. After the closing of the facility, she went to work for Options Healthcare to take care of her dear friend and cousin Phylis Sena. Lucy was preceded in death by her husband Jose Sequio Blea in 1987, her parents, Leandro and Alberta Gonzales; a sister, Dolores Sanchez in 1981. Survivors include four daughters; Geraldine Small and husband Devon of Clovis, NM, Jeanette Sena and husband Anthony of Melrose, NM, Rose Baca and husband Jimi of Clovis, NM, and Brenda Lopez and husband Carlos of Fort Sumner, NM; a son, John Derek Blea of Fort Sumner, NM. One sister, Erma Rodriguez and husband Vincent; six brothers; Willie Gonzales and wife Rosalie, Jerry Gonzales and wife Joan, Herman and wife Linda, Tony Lucero and wife Ana, Ernest Gonzales and Harold (Bix) Gonzales all of Fort Sumner. Also surviving is her lifelong companion of 24 years Manuel Lucero, her spoiled dog Mimi, grandchildren; Michael Sena, Amy Kelly and husband Mark, Johnny Joe, Raymond, Manuel and Albert Lopez. Desiree, Jaclyn and Daniel Gonzales, and Adriana Lopez; great-grandchildren; Dorian Blea, Skyrie and Raymond Lopez Jr., Aliyah Lopez, Johnny Joe III and Gabriella Lopez, Luke and Bradley Kelly. Also lifelong friend Phylis Sena, Hermanita Theresa Maes, and many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and friends. Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner. Funerall Mass will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner with Fr. Sotero A. Sena Officiating. Serving as Pallbearers will be John Derek Blea, Dorian Blea, Michael Sena, Johnny Joe Lopez, Raymond Joe Lopez, Manuel Lopez, Albert Lopez, and Daniel Gonzales.
