Jerry Romero

March 12, 1960 — May 19, 2011

Raymond Jerry Romero, age 51, passed away on May 19, 2011 at UNM Hospital in Albuquerque following an illness. “Jerry” as he was affectingly known was born March 12, 1960 in Santa Rosa, NM to the home of Epimenio and Clara (Pacheco) Romero. He was reared and attended schools in Santa Rosa. Jerry worked for the Guadalupe County Road Department for several years. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Parish. Jerry is preceded in death by his Step Father; Cele Garcia, his paternal grandparents; Patricio and Rebeca Romero, Maternal Grandparents; Ignacita and Leandro Pacheco and his Uncle; Louie Pacheco. Survivors include his children; Karen Lucero and husband Jamie, Karla Cave and husband Jonathan, the mother of his children; Florence Moncayo, his mother; Clara Romero, Father; Pime Romero and wife Gina, brothers and sisters; Rita Romeo, Michael Romero and Bonnie Scott, Grace Chavez and husband Ernie, Debra Romero and Drew Quintana, Donna Salas, Phillip Romero, David Romero and wife RosaElia, Daniel Romero and wife Crystal, Cele Garcia, Leslie Higgins and husband Joseph. Also surviving are his Grandchildren; Elias Giangola, Elena Lucero, Kayla Moncayo, Anthony Cave, Ayla Cave as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place and a memorial Rosary will be recited on Monday, May 23, at 7:00 PM from St. Rose of Lima Church. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 24, at 10:00 AM also from St. Rose of Lima Church with Father Joseph Thomas, CMI officiating. Burial of cremains will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers for Jerry will be; Levi Chavez II, Jarrod Chavez, Dathion Gomez, Marc Salas, Jeremy Romero, Michael Romero, Jr., Dominic Chavez, Gilbert Chavez, Gary Salas II, Glenn Chavez. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be; Anthony Baca, Tommy Martinez, Jr., Dicky Gutierrez, Martin Baca, Joseph Higgins and Florencio Moncayo.
