Jose N. Flores

Jose Flores, 80 of Santa Rosa, NM died Friday, May 6, 2011 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, NM following an illness. Joe was born in Pintada, NM on March 26, 1931 to the home of Alfredo and Celia (Maldonado) Flores. He was raised in Pastura, NM and attended school in Clovis, NM. He made his home in Santa Rosa in 1960. Joe enjoyed exercising, jogging and boxing and loved sharing stories about the past. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son George Flores and a brother Alfredo Flores Jr. Survivors include two sons Jimmy Joe Flores of California; Johnny Ray Flores of Hobbs, NM; five daughters Diane Flores of Santa Rosa; Debbie Robles and husband Mike of California; Darlene Briseno and husband Joe of Hobbs, NM; Doris Lollar and husband Roger of Midland, TX; Doreen Boarman and husband T.J. of Little Rock, Arkansas; a sister Geneva Flores of Albuquerque; two brothers Gilbert Flores of Albuquerque and Napoleon Flores of Charlotte, South Carolina. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. A rosary will be recited at 10:30 AM Tuesday, May 10, 2011 from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Mass will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Pallbearer will be Arnold Campos, honorary bearers will be Armando Campos, Johnny Ray Flores, Remigio Baca, Charlie Overby, Leroy Campos, T.J. Boarman, Joseph Overby, Jerry Campos, Michael Mata, and Lorenzo Mata. Cremation has taken place.
