Molly Snipes

Molly Dean Snipes, 66 of McAlister, NM died Sunday evening, May 1, 2011 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, NM following an illness. Molly was born November 15, 1944 in Sundown, TX to the home of Jim and Ada (Giddens) Herron. She was reared and attended school at McAlister and House, NM. She also attended ENMU in Portales for one year. Molly married Jimmie Snipes on November 17, 1963. They made their home in McAlister. Molly was a ranch and farm wife. She loved riding horses and working cattle with her family. She loved reading her bible and spending time outdoors. She was a member of Abundant Life Church in Tucumcari, NM. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister Gloria Hendrix. Molly was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend; she will be missed by her family. Survivors include her husband Jimmie Snipes of the family home in McAlister; three daughters Deanna Dane and husband Michael of San Angelo, TX; Sherri Bays and husband Ty of Silver City, NM; Nicki Rogers and husband Gary of Las Cruces, NM; two sons John Bill Snipes and wife Valerie of Clovis and Joe Ben Snipes of Fort Benning, GA; eleven grandchildren Matthew Dane and wife Whitney of San Angelo; Nathan Dane of San Angelo; Kody Downing of Clovis; Cassidy Downing of Clovis; Jalee Snipes of Clovis; Clell Bays and Ketch Bays of Silver City, NM; Payson Rogers, Harley Rogers, Whitney Rogers and Taylor Rogers of Las Cruces. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 5, 2011 from the House High School Gymnasium with Lendy Borden and Farril Defoor officiating. Burial will follow at the House Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Matt Dane, Kody Downing, Clyde Moon, Jim Ray, Kip DeFoor, Terril Defoor, Bobby Lee, and Jerry Sours.
